Sharp LC-52D64U, Sharp LC-46D64U,
Sharp LC-42D64U, & Sharp LC-65D64U Review
The Sharp are always a step ahead of their competition. Sharp has come out with the D64U series of flat screen LCD TVs which includes a 42-inch model (Sharp LC-42D64U), the 46-inch model (Sharp LC-46D64U), the 52-inch model (Sharp LC-42D64U), and the grand 65-inch model (Sharp LC-65D64U). Sharp claims that this new D64U series of Aquos models are 3-1/4 inch thin and 25% thinner than their former models. The bezel borders are thinner than previous series, so it can fit in tighter spots. For example, Sharp claims that the 42-inch model (the Sharp LC-42D64U) can fit in spaces usually made for a 40-inch model. The weight of the D64U series is also 20% lighter with less power consumption than previous Sharp LCD TV models. To find more info about any of the D64U models, check out the Sharp USA homepage here.
Some of the major specifications of the Sharp D64U Series are:
- 1080P Resolution
- 10;000:1 contrast ratio
- 3 HDMI 1.3 compliant inputs
- 2 Component inputs
This new Sharp D64U series certainly gives the consumer more choices when choosing a different type of Sharp LCDbuild structure. With 4 different sizes to choose from - the 42-inch model (Sharp LC-42D64U), the 46-inch model (Sharp LC-46D64U), the 52-inch model (Sharp LC-42D64U), and the grand 65-inch model (Sharp LC-65D64U) - anyone can enjoy one of the LCD TVs from the Sharp D64U series. My initial opinion is that the current Sharp's still fit the bill when it comes to picture quality and features. On the other hand, if size and weight are deterring consumers from buying other Sharp LCD TVs, then they should look into buying one of these units from the Sharp D64U series. Having a lot of choices is always good, and it's great to know that Sharp is providing the consumer with them.
