This Sharp 45” liquid crystal display TV, the Sharp LC-45D40U, is a size that is bigger than the typical 42” plasma size and bigger than the Sony 40” Bravias size. The Sharp LC-45D40U has the following features:
- 1366x768 resolution
- Contract ratio 1200:1
- Built in NTSC, QAM, ATSC tuners

The Aquos D40U series is Sharp’s proprietary advanced super view/black TFT with multi-pixel technology. The Sharp LC-45D40U comes in a black casing. The screen is surrounded by thick piano black border. As it says in its name, it is a very sharp look. The Sharp LC-45D40U also comes with a table stand. If you are looking for a large screen television that you need to put in a room that is very bright, (i.e. a lot of windows), the Sharp LC-45D40U should be considered on your list.
Another option is to go to Sharp’s flagship 45 model (LC-45D90U). It has a few more features than the LC-45D40U and higher specifications. If you are interested in the flagship unit, please check out the Sharp LC 45D90U review.
