Sony Bravia KDL-40S2000 Review

(MSRP $3,000)

The Sony Bravia 40inch model is probably more in the sweet spot in pricing compared to the KDL-46S2000 model with it's 6 extra inches of viewing space.  The S model provides a fast response time and high contrast ratio.  The LCD images provide wider viewing angles.   Also found in the new S series for 2006 is Sony’s one chip fully digitalized process to reduce block noise around letters which in turn, provides crisp and vivid images.   Greens and blues are automatically adjusted to produce truer and brighter colors.

The Sony Bravia KDL-40S2000 has the following key features:

  1. Resolution of 1366 x 768
  2. Contrast ratio 1300:1
  3. Integrated ATSC digital tuner
  4. HDMI, 2 component, 3 composite and PC inputs
  5. 2 x 10 Watts Speakers
  6. SRS Tru Surround XT

The unit is in a silver casing with bottom attached speakers.   The screen is surrounded by a silver bezel.  As with 46 models, the Bravia KDL-40S2000 provides a very clean distinct look that would satisfy any electronic consumer.
