Sony Bravia KDL-52W4100, KDL-46W4100, KDL-40W4100 Review

Sony W4100 Series is the mid-grade series in Sony's Bravia LCD TV line-up. This line comes in the 40 (KDL-40W4100), 46 (KDL-46W4100) and 52 (KDL-52W4100) inch sizes. The Sony W4100 series is one of Sony's other alternatives from spending the extra funds for a XBR4 or XBR5. Sony has taken steps to develop different series to attract the flat panel audience.

The Sony KDL W4100 series (KDL-52W4100, KDL-46W4100, KDL-40W4100) offers a black shiny bezel with a silver bar on the bottom of the LCD TV.   Some of the major specifications of the KDL-46W4100 are:

  1. 120 Mhz Motionflow
  2. 3D Interface graphic user interface
  3. 1080P resolution
  4. 4 HDMI and 2 Component inputs
  5. Bravia Engine 2 digital signal processing

The Sony W4100 series is a more budgeted version than the top of the line Z4100 series.  If LCD backlighting is not a big selling point, then the W4100 is what you need. LCD backlighting does present a premium in price, but the picture quality improvement might justify the price.  That’s where Sony has provided choice in the W4100 series.
