Sony KDL-70XBR7 Review
Sony KDL-40XBR7 Review

As with the new Sony Bravia XBR6 Line, Sony also announced the new XBR7 line at a mass unveiling in New York. With the Sony Bravia XBR7 line, Sony has decided to releas a 70" model (KDL-70XBR7) and a much smaller 40" model (KDL-40XBR7). The XBR7 has many of the same features as the XBR6, and brings its own innovations as well. Along with all of the XBR6 lines' features, the XBR7 includes additional inputs and the ability to display photos and play files from USB drives, which can be attached directly to the set. Other features include Advanced Contrast Enhancer (ACE), which allows the XBR7 to provide an even better visual presentation than the XBR6.

The RS-232C connection allows the XBR7 to directly connect to a PC or other electrical device and function as a display for it without additional peripherals. This is an amazing idea that makes it extremely convenient for gaming enthusiasts to display their favorite titles on the beautiful XBR7 screen.

For the consumer who is not afraid to spend a little bit more, the XBR7 is a great choice for a high-definition set due to its amazingly crisp picture quality made possible by great strides in the LCD technological field. Its cutting-edge BRAVIA ENGINE 2 EX is clearly visually superior to the XBR6's preceding module. I recommend springing for the 70" model over the 40", as it is truly an amazing sight to behold. For those who are looking to spend a bit less, the XBR6 is still an excellent choice that will be sure to delight high-definition LCD enthusiasts until Sony reveals their next groundbreaking new line of sets.
