Top 10 LCD TVs – 46-inch and higher - 2006 Models
We have seen many list out their on top 10 LCD TV models, but we'd like split the list into 2 depending on the size of the LCD TV. Comparing a 46-inch and a 40-inch LCD is like comparing apples to oranges. Most consumers are either looking for something huge (ie. the 46-inch or over) or something that will get them into the HD era. If you can justify the extra money to buy a LCD TV of 46-inch and over, then you may consider the new sizes over 46, which are cropping up like the 5-2inch and 56-inch. I have even heard that a new Samsung 47-inch is in the market for the excessive price over $10,000. If you want the size and thinness without hitting the pocket book, then the plasma TV is a viable alternative. Here are our top 10 LCD TV’s 46-inches and higher:
- Samsung LN-S4696D – A top tier 1080P TV with a beautiful black bezel. This 46 inch model is a shade less than the Sony, which put its it just ahead in this ranking.
- Sony KDL46XBR2- This model has a silver bezel with the 1080P. The XBR3 has the black bezel and is ranked in this category. Sony’s are sleek and stylish and expensive. Branding is everything to some consumers.
- Sharp LC46D62U – This brand new entry that was introduced in October has been well anticipated. Pricing of the 46inch model is much more competitive than I thought, and the other manufactures may have to adjust their prices accordingly. The bezel is attractive, but still not as good looking as the Samsungs and Sony’s
- Sharp LC52D62U – This TV is very well priced compared the wide price spread to the competing Samsung LNS5296D. This model and price will turn the head of many consumers
- Toshiba 46HL96 - Much like the 42-inch model, Toshiba LCD TVs look great, but their casing is nothing special.
- Samsung LN-S5296D - The 52-inch model of the Samsung LN-S4696D.
- Samsung LN-S4695D - Though not the top tier Samsung model, the LN-S4695D is beautifully designed, well priced and has an exceptionally beautiful picture.
- Westinghouse LUM47W1 - Coming in at 47-inches, the Westinghouse has chosen a size that is slightly bigger than the rest. Though not known, this LCD TV will impress some.
- Sony KDL-46S2000 - This 46-inch LCD TV provides wider viewing angles, a fast response time, and a high contrast ratio.
- JVC LT46FN97 - Less known for their LCD TVs, JVC has brought out this 46-inch to combat the big guys - Sony, Sharp, and Samsung.
